IRONWOOD – The Ironwood Township Board of Trustees approved seeking bids for a sewer project last night. An approximately 180-foot section of the sewer line between GCC Drive and Lake Road needs to be replaced, according to Treasurer Maria Graser. There had been plans to address the problem a couple years ago, but those were never carried out. Along with deciding to seek bids for the project, the board agreed to develop a long-term plan for work on the township’s sewer system. In other action, the board: Authorized spending up to $2,000 to replace a broken lift station lid. Passed a resolution updating the list of locations township notices and meeting minutes can be posted, with Gogebic Community College’s Lindquist Center replacing the Pat O’Donnell Civic Center while the civic center is closed.
