IRONWOOD – WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO MIDNIGHT CST THURSDAY NIGHT… Moderate to heavy lake effect snow is expected over western Upper Michigan later this afternoon through tonight. Patchy blowing snow will also develop. Expect hazardous travel. Total snow accumulations of 8 to 16 inches over western Gogebic County near Ironwood, Bessemer, and Wakefield, and 3 to 8 inches from Marenisco east to Watersmeet. Also, a LAKESHORE FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO 3 AM CST THURSDAY…Waves on Lake Superior are expected to building to as high as 12 feet leading to minor lakeshore flooding.
