Pier at Bayview Park Will Be Closed This Summer.

ASHLAND – Swimmers who like diving off the pier at Pamida Beach will have to find another place to show off their skills this summer. The Ashland Daily Press reports the pier at Ashland’s Bayview Park along Lakeshore Drive East was damaged considerably this winter by ice. A structural engineer for the county’s insurance company has declared the pier unsafe and the city has closed it until repairs can be made. Although the pier will be closed this summer, the beach and swimming area will still be open to the public.
