Marenisco man sentenced in Gogebic County Circuit Court.

GOGEBIC COUNTY, Mich. – From Gogebic County Court A Marenisco man arrested for leading police on a high speed chase on a motorcycle was sentenced in Gogebic County Circuit Court.  On count one, John Gunderman Jr. fourth degree police officer fleeing, he received two years of probation. On count six, operating while intoxicated second offense, he received 90 days in jail. He was credit for four days. The convictions are to be served at the same time.  The 52-year-old man pleaded guilty to those charges on November 27, 2018. All other charges of his were dismissed.  Gogebic County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop Gunderman, but he accelerated and continued east on US-2 for a short distance. He then slowed and made a U-turn accelerating rapidly back west at speeds of 161 mph. Gunderman slowed down then turned south onto M-64 by Fair Avenue before coming to a stop.
