WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 6 PM CST FRIDAY for Iron, Ashland, Bayfield and Price Counties… A prolonged period of snow is expected to affect much of the region, lingering longest along portions of the South Shore due to lake effects. A wintry mix will also be possible at times. The snowfall isn`t expected to be especially heavy, but it will be rather prolonged, resulting in snowfall amounts of 3 to 6 inches into parts of northwest and Norther Wisconsin, with some locally higher amounts in the snow belt regions of Iron County where snow totals could be near a foot by Saturday night.
