WINTER STORM WARNING GOES IN EFFECT TONIGHT UNTIL 6pm CDT SATURDAY… As a strong winter storm could bring significant snowfall and strong winds to Upper Michigan into this weekend. Rain today will change over to Heavy snow tonight through Friday morning, followed by lake effect snow Friday afternoon through Saturday. Total snow accumulations 8 to 12 inches away from Lake Superior, with locally higher amounts of 18 inches or more possible in parts of Gogebic and Ontonagon Counties especially in the higher terrain areas and north to northeast snow belts. Winds may gust as high as 45 mph near the Lake Superior shoreline.
