WAKEFIELD — Wakefield has selected a new city treasurer. Mandy Lake was named to replace retiring city treasurer Sherry Ravelli on a 4-1 vote Monday evening, council member Kay Wiita in the minority. City manager Robert Brown said Lake was among the top three finalists for the job, scoring highest in her interview with the city’s personnel committee and second on the civil service style test administered to the candidates. She brings extensive government experience to the job, not least two years with the city as payroll clerk and eight years as clerk in neighboring Wakefield Township. She was elected township supervisor Nov. 3, and will continue those duties moving forward. Ravelli is set to retire Dec. 18, after 16 years as treasurer.
