Local and Regional COVID-19 numbers

GOGEBIC / IRON COUNTY – The Michigan Department of Health is reporting 189 cases of COVID19 in Gogebic County an increase of 1 from yesterday. Ontonagon County with 56 an increase of 1 since yesterday. While the Wisconsin Department of Health reports 159 cases in Iron County no increase since yesterday. As of yesterday, there have been a total of 3,835 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Upper Peninsula during this outbreak. Of those, at least 1,627 are considered recovered and 63 have resulted in death. COVID-19 hospitalizations, out of the 10 U.P. hospitals and health systems reporting, show 54 COVID-19 patients in Upper Michigan as of Thursday, Oct. 15. Fourteen of those patients are in the intensive care unit (ICU). Aspirus hospitals have eight patients, with two in the ICU. Wisconsin has hit a new daily high for positive coronavirus cases and hospitalizations, a surge that the state’s chief health officer is calling a crisis. There were 3,747 new cases reported Thursday, breaking the record of 3,279 set on Tuesday.
