Another large jump in COVID cases in Gogebic County

GOGEBIC / IRON COUNTY –The Michigan Department of Health reporting 2133 COVID cases in Gogebic County an increase of 70 cases since yesterday. Ontonagon County with 745 an increase of 10 since yesterday. The Wisconsin Department of Health reports 863 cases in Iron County no increase in cases since yesterday. Health officials in Michigan report 28,458 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 for Tuesday and Wednesday, reflecting an average daily case count of 14,229 new cases per day. There were 350 new reported deaths over the two-day period. 64.1% of all Michigan residents have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine as of January 10. Of residents 5 and older, 58% have completed their vaccination series. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services reports 10,277 new cases of COVID-19 in Wednesday’s update, with 26 new deaths. 62.6% of the total population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine as of January 12. 58.6% of the total population has completed the vaccination series.
