Park Falls woman appears in court on embezzlement charges

PARK FALLS – The Park Falls woman accused of embezzling from a Park Falls food pantry appeared in Price County Court in Phillips on Tuesday. Dayna Lemmer is accused of embezzling more than $50,000 from the Lords Cupboard food pantry in Park Falls. Lemmer also allegedly took an unknown amount of money from the Park Falls Area Chamber of Commerce. Tammy Hastings, Chamber’s president, said that in August they found there was a misappropriation of funds. Lemmer was the former treasurer for both organizations. According to court documents, Lemmer told police the fraudulent activity had been occurring for approximately a year. Lemmer’s pre-trial date has been set for March 17.
