ONTONAGON – At last night’s Ontonagon Village Council meeting Council President Kenny Waldrop announced he was stepping down. Waldrop then went on talking about accomplishments made under his presidency then went around shaking the hands of all the other council members before leaving the room. Waldrop came under fire at the last Council meeting from Ontonagon resident Bill Johnson arguing that Waldrop moved outside the village of Ontonagon and cited the village charter from the 1880s requiring that he step down due to residency. At the time he refused and had the support of the council to maintain his presidency.
