VILAS COUNTY – An arrest warrant has been issued for a Poplar man charged in a fatal hit-and-run accident. 19 year old Tyler Metz is facing three felony charges stemming from the Jan. 23 crash in Boulder Junction on US 51. Authorities said the two-car head-on crash killed a man and critically injured his daughter. They said EMS found a box of cigarettes on the suspect, with white pills and methamphetamine inside. The medical services worker said Metz asked him to throw it away, according to court records. The surviving victim said Metz crossed the center-line prior to the crash. Metz tested positive for drugs, according to the complaint. The arrest warrant was issued on May 14.
