A Neenah, Wisconsin man is recovering after being struck by a snowmobile in Wakefield Township

A Neenah, Wisconsin man is recovering after being struck by a snowmobile in Wakefield Township. It happened on Sunday around 2 a.m. near the Blackjack Ski Resort. Michigan State Police Wakefield Post were called out for a snowmobile that struck a pedestrian. MSP reports the 48-year-old victim was walking up a hill when he was hit by a 49-year-old Bessemer man, suspected of being intoxicated. The victim’s injuries were not life-threatening. He was taken to Aspirus Ironwood Hospital and later transferred to Aspirus Wausau Hospital for further treatment. The suspect was arrested for operating with a high B.A.C. causing injury and driving with a suspended license. Names are being withheld pending arraignment. The incident remains under investigation. The Gogebic County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene.
