WATERSMEET – The U.S. Forest Service wants your input on a Ottawa National Forest environmental assessment. The assessment is for the Drumloid Vegetation Management Project which proposes timber harvest and other resource management activities on approximately 48,000 acres midway between Iron River, Michigan and Watersmeet with US Highway 2 and Forest Highway 16 traversing the middle of the project area. The public comment period is open from now through Oct. 29. Comments can be e-mailed to Christine Makuck at christine.makuck@usda.gov.
