Winterfest volunteers say the MECCA Trails in Mercer will be ready

MERCER – WINTERFEST Coming Soon to Mercer, Volunteers say the MECCA Trails Will Be Ready. Volunteers for the MECCA Trails system have been busy, getting the area ready for Winterfest coming up Saturday, February 5th. Cross country skiers will have three races to choose from. The Mercer Springs Snowshoe Tour is also back again with routes of 1 mile and 2miles. Groomers have been running, taking anywhere from 5 t0 10 hours to pack, groom and set tracks. Snowshoe trails are ungroomed and ready. Proceeds from Winterfest are used to enhance, maintain and expand the trails, facilities and equipment, as well as to fund the MECCA Experience, a community outreach program.
