Hurley School clears up rumors on WUPM Facebook page

Written by on January 19, 2022

HURLEY – The Hurley School District clearing up rumors of classes going virtual.  Kevin Genisot of the Hurley School District posting a statement on the WUPM Facebook page that reads “Although there were some rumors circulating that Hurley might go virtual, that was never even an option or a consideration. A virtual education usually causes undue stress and anxiety on staff, students, and families. A virtual education also causes a greater learning loss for many students, especially those without the resources needed to learn.”  The Hurley School District at their meeting Monday updating their COVID policy.  The new policy states that if a student tests positive for COVID 19 they may not attend class for 5 days then must wear a mask while attending classes 5 days after returning if they have no symptoms.  Those students exposed to someone who tests positive may remain in class while waiting for test results but will be required to wear a mask if they aren’t experiencing symptoms.  Those experiencing symptoms are asked to stay home.
