Whitecap closing for the season while others hope to get a few more weeks of skiing in.

UPSON – Whitecap Mountains Resort in Upson is now closed for the season, but Big Powderhorn Mountain Resort in Bessemer plans on staying open a bit longer, running their snow guns over this past weekend. Big Snow Resort’s locations in Wakefield and Bessemer as well as Porkies Ski Area in Ontonagon also plans on continuing to welcome skiers. Many resorts in the area hope with snow making and some luck to stay open through the Easter weekend. Demand has been high this winter, with outdoor activities taking on increased popularity due to COVID19. With skiing finished at Whitecap, the golf course there will be opening another 9 holes.
