Wakefield Applies for a Michigan Grant announced earlier this week.

WAKEFIELD – Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced the $5 million grant program for training and recruitment on Jan. 3 and the city of Wakefield is in the process of applying to receive some of that funding to be used for training and recruitment of their first responders. All Michigan cities, villages, and townships are eligible to apply for grants of up to $100,000 through the First Responder Training and Recruitment grant program. The grant program is to support local governments expand recruitment, improve training, and provide additional professional development and support to first responders in local governments. Wakefield has until February 15th to submit their application for the funding.
