Vilas County Sheriff and Clerk getting pay raises.

EAGLE RIVER – The Vilas County Sheriff and Clerk Will See Bigger Paychecks Next Term. Last week the Vilas County board approved salary increases for the county sheriff and clerk of court, both are elected positions that run from 2023 through 2026. The salary for the sheriff by 2026 with benefits will be $133,990. The clerk of court’s salary will be $86, 834 with benefits. According to the Lakeland Times approval had to take place before candidates could officially begin the process of taking out nomination papers on April 15. It is unclear whether the current sheriff and clerk of court will be running for re-election.
