VILAS COUNTY – Vilas County Board to Use ARPA Funds to Give Boost to County Employees. At their meeting last Tuesday, the Vilas County Board voted to designate almost $200,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funds to a onetime payment for county employees. The Lakeland Times reports the county has received almost $4.3 million in ARPA funds, some which has previously been designated for a new courthouse generator, and just over $241,000 to purchase a new tractor for the forestry department. Elected county officials will not be included in the onetime payment, and the onetime $2,500 minimum wage increase will go to all full-time employees. Part time employees will receive a payment commensurate with how many hours they work.
