Two buildings damaged in Ironwood Fire!

IRONWOOD- Fire crews were in downtown Ironwood fighting a structure fire last night at 135 E Ayer St. The call for fire crews went out at around 8:00 last night. Smoke was visible from the front and top of the building located directly across the street from the Ironwood Post Office in a building being used as a barber shop. 2 buildings were damaged one from fire the other from smoke. The first started in the basement area of the building. Ironwood and Hurley fire crews were on scene along with the Gogebic County Sheriff’s Office and Beacon Ambulance. The cause is under investigation.
