Three Nigerian men charged in suicide death of Marquette teen.

MARQUETTE – Three Nigerian men are awaiting extradition to Michigan for committing sexual extortion and causing the death of Jordan DeMay of Marquette.  U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Michigan Mark Totten announced Wednesday the unsealing of a federal indictment charging three Nigerian men identified as 22-year-old Samuel Ogoshi, 20-year-old Samson Ogoshi, and 19-year-old Ezekiel Ejehem Robert, all of Lagos, Nigeria, the 3 are charged with sexually extorting numerous young men and teenage boys in Michigan and across the United States with one being charged with causing the death of Jordan DeMay, of Marquette.  Other charges include Sexually Exploitation of Minors, Distribution of Child Pornography, and Stalking.  On March 25, 2022, 17-year-old DeMay was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. His death prompted an investigation by the Marquette County Sheriff’s Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which culminated in the indictment unsealed Wednesday.  The three men are facing extradition to the United States to face prosecution. The timeline for their extradition and a date for their appearance in the United States is unknown.  The DeMay family with ties to Ironwood.  Jordan’s father was a former Ironwood Public Safety Officer before moving to Marquette.
