Snowmobile Trails now open!

BESSEMER – Snowmobile Trails are now officially opened Yesterday in the U.P. While there is not a lot of snow on the ground in most of the U.P. Gogebic and Ontonagon Trails are in decent shape after more than 40 inches of snow fell in the last few weeks in Gogebic and Ontonagon County Snowbelt regions. Be aware Trail 2 is between Ramsay and Wakefield is not yet open as the trail authority is waiting on DNR approval to use that section of trail. Once approval is received the trail authority can then start the process of installing signage and preparing the trail for use. The segment of trail 2 running though Snow River Ski Resort is now closed. Trail 2 from Kwik Trip in Bessemer to Hurley has been rolled and is open. Trail 160 is closed and will remain closed for a few weeks, and trail 11s is closed at this time. To use public trails, you need to purchase a snowmobile permit.
