IRONWOOD — Two annual ice-oval racing snowmobile events will not be held next month, and won’t return until the winter of 2022-23, according to reports at the Gogebic County Fair Board meeting on Monday. The Ironwood Snowmobile Olympus and Pro Vintage Racing ice-oval racing events are canceled due to current conditions related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The fair board approved scheduling of the next racing events for the vintage class to be held from Dec. 31, 2022 to Jan. 2, 2023. The next USSA event is scheduled for Jan. 7-9, 2023. The United States Snowmobile Association sanctioned race attracts some of the country’s most elite ice oval drivers who compete in the Prostar Cup Tour.
