MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin lawmakers are set to vote on two Republican-backed bills that would dramatically increase the penalties for reckless driving. The first bill would increase forfeitures and fines for reckless driving to as much as $4,000 depending and up to six years in prison on the number of offenses and the severity. Right now, fines range from $25 to $2,000 and three-and-a-half years in prison. The second bill would allow police to impound a reckless driver’s vehicle if the person had a previous offense.
