Quick burst of snow this morning, bigger blast comes tomorrow night

IRONWOOD – A quick burst of moderate to heavy snowfall is expected this morning over the north snow belts, bringing an additional couple of inches. North winds gusting to 35 mph near Lake Superior will also lower visibility in patchy blowing snow.  Moderate to heavy accumulating snowfall is possible tomorrow night through Thursday night across much of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan as a strong winter storm is expected to push into the area.  Lake enhanced snowfall over northern Bayfield and Ashland County could lead to snowfall totals upwards of 20 inches. Northwest winds of 30 to 45 mph are possible, with gusts up to 60 mph along the shore of Lake Superior. Strong winds will lead to blowing and drifting snow. Blizzard conditions are expected around Lake Superior and possible across much of northwest Wisconsin starting tomorrow night.
