Power outages continue in some areas.

IRONWOOD – Still A Handful of Power Outages in Mercer and More Snow Possible. There were still some customers of Xcel Energy in the Mercer area without power after heavy snow overnight Wednesday night weighed down lines and caused outages. Xcel brought in crews from across the state of Wisconsin to clean up downed branches, power poles and lines and to get service back up. According to the NWS, Ironwood received at least three inches of snow as of early Thursday morning, with overall about 9 inches on the ground, thanks to a clipper system that will continue to move through the Gogebic Range through Saturday. The NWS says all told expected snow throughout the end of the week could total up to nine inches. Power outages continue this morning in the Rhinelander area as well as in parts of the Central and Eastern U.P. as of this morning. Nicolet College Closed again today due to power outages in North Central Wisconsin. In the Eastern U.P. The Mackinac Bridge reopened to traffic yesterday after It was closed for nearly 12 hours Thursday because of hazardous falling ice. More snow to come a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM CDT SATURDAY. Lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 6 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze.
