One Dead in a shooting in Bayfield Friday.

BAYFIELD – An investigation is underway into a Bayfield County shooting death. According to the Bayfield County Sheriff’s Office, a call came in late Friday about a shooting in Bayfield Township and when deputies arrived they found 64-year-old Michael Kinney had a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Deputies apprehended a 62-year-old man from Bayfield in connection with Kinney’s death but it’s not clear if charges were filed. According to investigators, the two men knew each other. The shooting remains under investigation.
