IRONWOOD – Swimming in the Black River Harbor area is off limits until further notice. According to the Western Upper Peninsula Health Department the public is advised against ingesting or swimming in the water along the Black River and at the Black River Harbor due to compromised water quality related to incomplete treatment of sewage lagoon wastewater. Signs are being posted by U.S. Forest Service staff stating that swimming is closed. For more information on the closure call WUPHD at 906-482-7382.
