Next Phase of the Airport expansion project.

IRONWOOD – The Next Phase of Airport Expansion to Begin Soon. Bids are due in a week for work to renovate the Gogebic-Iron County Airport. The renovations will allow the facility to better handle an increase in passenger load. The renovations will almost double the capacity of the passenger holding area. The redesign will also reduce the size of the air traffic organization room, which is the airport’s operations area. There are currently only two bid estimates for the work. Any approved contractor must have a letter on file with the county.
