LANSING – Michigan Hunters Must Now Report Deer Harvest Online. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources has announced that starting with this Fall’s deer season, online harvest registration will be required for all hunters who successfully take a deer. There are several reasons for the change, the most important is gathering precise data on the deer population. Hunters will have up to 72 hours after taking a deer to report their harvest. The DNR estimates it should take about three to five minutes to complete the report, and there are two ways to do it, Report online at Michigan.gov/DNRHarvestReport, or use the DNR’s new mobile app, available for Android or IPhone.
