MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin Republicans have voted to kill proposals to legalize marijuana, pay for renovations at the Milwaukee Brewers’ stadium and create a paid family leave program. Those were among the more than 500 items proposed by Democratic Gov. Tony Evers that the Legislature’s GOP-controlled budget committee killed with a single vote Tuesday. Evers and Democrats called the vote “foolish.” saying Republicans are ignoring the will of voters, while Republicans say they are creating a fiscally responsible budget.
