Local and Regional COVID numbers

GOGEBIC / IRON COUNTY –The Michigan Department of Health reporting 1997 COVID cases in Gogebic County an increase of 35 since Friday.  Ontonagon County with 709 an increase of 24 since Friday.  The Wisconsin Department of Health reports 863 cases in Iron County an increase of 5 cases since yesterday. Health officials in Michigan report 40,692 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Thursday and Friday, reflecting an average daily case count of 20,346 new cases per day. There were 259 new reported deaths over the two-day period.  According to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, 63.8% of all Michigan residents have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine as of January 6. Of residents 5 and older, 57.8% have completed their vaccination series.  The Wisconsin Department of Health Services reports 12,293 new cases of COVID-19 in Friday’s update, with 12 new deaths.  62.3% of the total population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine as of January 6. 58.3% of the total population has completed the vaccination series.
