Local and Regional COVID-19 numbers

GOGEBIC / IRON COUNTY –The Michigan Department of Health is reporting 725 cases of COVID19 in Gogebic County as of this morning an increase of 4 since Yesterday.  Ontonagon County with 279 cases an increase of one since yesterday. While the Wisconsin Department of Health reports 427 an increase of 2 since yesterday. Health officials in Michigan report 4,015 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 yesterday. The total number of confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 across the state is 512,751. There were 176 deaths reported.  The state surpassed 500,000 confirmed cases on Monday, January 4.  The statewide case fatality rate is 2.6%.  The Wisconsin Department of Health Services reports 3,791 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, with 40 new deaths. DHS says 10,148 people were tested in the last 24 hours.  The total number of confirmed cases across the state since the pandemic began is 498,538, with 93.2% of the cases now recovered.
