Local and Regional COVID-19 Numbers.

GOGEBIC / IRON COUNTY –The Michigan Department of Health is reporting 680 cases of COVID19 in Gogebic County as of this morning an increase of 6 since yesterday. Ontonagon County with 271 cases an increase of just 1 since yesterday. While the Wisconsin Department of Health reports 398 cases unchanged since yesterday. As of last night, there have been a total of 13,453 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Upper Peninsula during this outbreak. Of those, at least 8,126 are considered recovered and 314 have resulted in death. The seven-day average for positive tests in the U.P. sits at 8.1%. The cumulative rate of positive diagnostic tests for Upper Michigan is 5.76% as of Dec. 14. COVID-19 hospitalizations, out of the 10 U.P. hospitals and health systems reporting, show 57 COVID-19 patients in Upper Michigan as of Monday, Dec. 14. Of those, 14 are in the intensive care unit (ICU). This is a downward trend compared to when data was last updated Dec. 10, though patients in ICU only decreased by one.
