GOGEBIC / IRON COUNTY –The Michigan Department of Health is reporting 348 cases of COVID19 in Gogebic County no increase since yesterday. Ontonagon County with 114 also no increase since yesterday. While the Wisconsin Department of Health reports 224 cases in Iron County an increase of 7 since yesterday. As of last night, there have been a total of 6,527 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Upper Peninsula during this outbreak. Of those, at least 3,134 are considered recovered and 134 have resulted in death. The seven-day average for positive tests in the U.P. sits at 8.1%. Upper Michigan added 161 coronavirus cases Tuesday. Wisconsin health officials reported 5,771 new coronavirus cases, a new record, and 52 more deaths on Tuesday, along with a testing positivity rate tracking ever higher. Hospitalizations rose by 247 in the state, which for weeks has ranked one of the nation’s worst hot spots for the virus.
