GOGEBIC / IRON COUNTY – The Michigan Department of Health is reporting 182 cases of COVID19 in Gogebic County an increase of 4 from yesterday. Ontonagon County with 54 no increase since yesterday. While the Wisconsin Department of Health reports 156 cases in Iron County an increase of 3 since yesterday. As of last night, there have been a total of 3,559 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Upper Peninsula during this outbreak. Of those, at least 1,517 are considered recovered and 60 have resulted in death. Upper Michigan added 92 coronavirus cases Monday. COVID-19 hospitalizations, out of the 10 U.P. hospitals and health systems reporting, show 45 COVID-19 patients in Upper Michigan as of Monday, Oct. 12. Twelve of those patients are in the intensive care unit (ICU). Aspirus hospitals have five patients, with none in the ICU. The cumulative rate of positive diagnostic tests for Upper Michigan is 2.47% as of Oct. 13. Wisconsin has hit grim coronavirus milestones, with record highs for positive cases, deaths and hospitalizations. The state Department of Health Services reported 3,279 new cases Tuesday, breaking a five-day-old record. It reported 34 deaths, also a new high, bringing the state’s death toll to 1,508. To date, more than 155,000 Wisconsinites have tested positive for the coronavirus.
