Ishpeming house fire victim dies

ISHPEMING – One of the people injured in a fire on Silver Street in Ishpeming Township has died. According to family, Glenn Andrews, owner of Glenn’s Smokehouse, died of his injuries on Sunday, March 19. Andrews was critically injured in a fire at 175 Silver Street in Ishpeming Township on March 5 and was taken to the University of Michigan Hospital. In a Facebook post, the family said that there will be a memorial for Andrews on Wednesday, March 22, at Barrel + Beam in Marquette Township from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Glenn’s Smokehouse announced that it will be closing on March 31. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and the Michigan State Police is still investigating.
