IRONWOOD – The Ironwood Carnegie Library is participating in the National Banned Book Week observance. The annual event which celebrates the freedom to read takes place the last week of September. It aims to spotlight current and historical attempts to censor books in libraries and schools. Officials say you may be surprised by the books that have been challenged or banned throughout the years and while many of them may or may not be approved by the public – it’s everyone’s right to be able to read them.
