Investigation into the death of a Bessemer man underway

IRONWOOD – An investigation is under way into a Bessemer resident’s death. The Gogebic County Sheriff’s Office says they received a missing persons call Tuesday around noon and an investigation determined the individual was last seen Monday evening. Gogebic County Search and Rescue responded to a unspecified location focusing their efforts on a privately owned bond. They recovered the body of a 57-year-old whose name and gender were not released pending next of kin notification. Michigan State Police from the Wakefield Post assisted in the investigation.
