Highway 45 construction begins Monday.

VILAS COUNTY – Governor Tony Evers has signed a $3.7 million contract with contractor Northeast Asphalt Inc. for an improvement project to US 45. The construction in Vilas County will go from just south of Watersmeet to Chain O Lakes Road a few miles north of Eagle River. Construction is scheduled to start Monday. During construction, US 45 will remain open to traffic, but motorists can expect to encounter flagging operations and daytime temporary lane shifts. Construction is scheduled for completion in late-September.
