Gogebic Iron County airport receives grant funding.

IRONWOOD – The Gogebic Iron County Airport Receiving Help From Federal Government. The Gogebic County Airport has received $159,000 through a First Year Airport Infrastructure Grant made possible by the recent Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg has said the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law provides a once in a generation opportunity to build safe and more sustainable airports and allows airports of all sizes to modernize their infrastructure to build a better America. How the grant will be used and how funds will be disbursed still needs to be addressed with the state.
