Gogebic County 911 fee increase.

BESSEMER – The county 911 fee was set at $2 by the Gogebic County Board of Commissioners. The commissioners on a 6-0 vote approved the increase recommendation from the 911 Committee which will increase Gogebic County’s 911 operating surcharge from $1.50 to $2 per month effective July 1. Heidi DeRosso, county emergency management and 911 coordinator, telling the Daily Globe that the intention of the committee is to keep the fee at $2 for the foreseeable future. The voter-approved fee increase will fund equipment replacement and upgrades, a new communication line and other projects.
