Former West Iron County teacher goes to trial.

IRON RIVER – The West Iron County teacher arrested and charged in February for delivering marijuana to a minor is headed to trial. joseph Serbentas appeared in Iron County, Michigan Circuit Court Monday for a pretrial conference. He is charged with one felony count of controlled substance-delivery to a minor-marijuana.  The Iron County Circuit Court said Serbentas has previously pleaded “not guilty” and is subsequently scheduled for a jury trial beginning Oct. 24.  Serbentas was arrested on Feb. 21; however, he first resigned from the West Iron County School District in January, following an investigation into allegations of “unprofessional conduct.”
