First Responders Hockey Game

UPPER MICHIGAN – Hockey Game Makes for Fun for U.P. and Northern Wisconsin Residents and First Responders…Police officers and firefighters traveled from across the U.P. and northern Wisconsin last night to compete in the first ever First Responders hockey game in Iron Mountain. Organizers got the idea from a game that takes place in Houghton County. Iron Mountain Fire Department Engineer Nate Furton said he hopes to make the game next year a fundraiser, that will allow 2 local students to pursue criminal justice and fire science education. The final score was not the important thing last night, allowing first responders to connect with the community on a personal level was the key, and then of course, there were the bragging rights.
