Drowning Victim recovered in a Vilas County.

LAND O LAKES – Drowning Victim recovered in a Vilas County Lake near Land O Lakes. A body was recovered from Black Oak Lake in Vilas County yesterday morning. A boater had seen someone without a life jacket sinking below an overturned canoe in the midafternoon on Monday, called emergency crews and a search was conducted, but by dusk no one had been found. Searchers resumed looking early yesterday morning and just before midday the body of a man was found. Land O Lakes Ambulance Service, Land O Lakes Fire Department, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Newbold Search and Rescue, Vilas County Medical Examiner and the Vilas County Sheriff’s Office. The drowning has been ruled an accident and identification of the victim is pending.
