IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP – More renovations at Copper Peak expected to begin this spring. Renovations began in July after copper peak received a $140,000 grant from the Great Lakes Sports Commission. The group also received $20 million from the State of Michigan. The goal is to renovate Copper Peak to bring back international ski jumping to Gogebic County by the fall of 2024 which is expected to bring in more than $50 million of revenue to Gogebic County over 10 years. However, despite the money about Copper Peak still needs to come up with around $4 million to complete all the work needed to the structure and the site.
