BESSEMER – The Bessemer Area School District issued an update on its actions due to reports of the coronavirus. Officials say a kindergarten student was reported to be ill so the class was kept home Monday. A test came back negative so students will be back in class today. Meanwhile a 4th grade student developed COVID-19 symptoms so that class was sent home until the student’s test results come back. District officials say they are working with the Western Upper Peninsula Health District in both cases.
