Bessemer New Clerk-Treasure duties begin later this month.

BESSEMER – Bessemer’s New Clerk-Treasurer to begin her duties later this month. The City of Bessemer has a new clerk-treasurer. The City Council interviewed a couple of candidates in a special meeting on the 1st and after decided upon Kristie Peterson of Marenisco. An official offer was made to Peterson on the 2nd. Since mid-2021, Peterson has been a pupil auditor and general education assistant for the Gogebic-Ontonagon Intermediate School. Before that, Peterson had worked for the Bessemer branch of the Secretary of State’s office since 2007. Jennifer Adams will continue as interim clerk-treasurer until Peterson takes over on the 21st.
