Beloved Coach and Ashland Football Legend Passes.

ASHLAND – Ashland High and Univerity of North Dakota football standout, former Oredocker’s head coach, and much beloved educator Bill Blake passed away on Monday at age 71. The Ashland Daily Press reports Blake moved away from Ashland for college in 1969 and went on to play for the University of North Dakota as an all-conference center in 1972. Blake returned to the area after retiring from teaching and coaching in Steven’s Point to serve as head coach for the Oredockers from 2014-2016. He is remembered as being humble, kind and generous and he loved and lived football. Stevens Point area friends and family will gather and share memories on Tuesday, April 25th.
